On December 11, 2024, the Econox Laos team had the opportunity to participate in the 3rd National Urban Forum, held at the Grand Club, National University of Laos.The forum aimed to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the local community, focusing on engaging youth to achieve these goals.The event was attended by a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the public and private sectors, academics, civil society organizations, and youth.
A special session titled “Our Future Free of Plastic Pollution and the Challenges of Plastic and Waste” featured presentations by our co-founders, under the theme: “Promoting Participation in Reducing Plastic Pollution.” Additional presentations included a session by Green Vientiane on “Empowering the Next Generation for a Sustainable Future: Taking Action to Address Plastic Pollution and Production” and a presentation by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) on “Transitioning to a Circular Economy.” The speakers emphasized the increasing trend in plastic production, the relevant SDGs indicators, the importance of multi-stakeholder implementation, and the critical role of youth as future drivers of sustainability.
